Crazy In Love - Beyonce Inspired Lemon Bridal Shower

IMG_9484.JPG

So...I should really be ashamed! I haven't blogged in so very long but I felt compelled to share my latest project. with you all! I collaborated with two very talented ladies for this shower. Chicona Kibria of Malani Signature Events & Shakea Reid of Keke's Konfections. Without further a do...here it is! So many details I squeal every time I look at the photos.

Treats and Desserts - Keke's Konfections

We had so much fun setting up for this event it hardly felt like work at all. I used stencils from Michaels to create this Lemonade sign. Painted the wood all white, then added a bright sunshine yellow to make it pop using acrylic satin paint and foam brushes! Added a fun little bee to most of the graphics (Never Drop That Alcohol sign shown below) because...well..you know...QUEEN BEY!

The table setting was set for 6. The linens chosen by our planner Chicona, were the perfect choice to give the event the class it needed. Damask black and white chair sashes and table runners, accented by black and gold charger plates. Each guest found their seat by searching for their lemon place card with their name on it. They were each served Charlotte's "Dirty Lemonade" in a glass that read "Fresher Than You" commonly known from Beyonce's "7-11" song. They also each received a mini bottle of Champagne that read "Drunk In Love", and a custom box of Lemonheads.

The treats for this event were all magically created by Shakea Reid of Keke's Konfections. She saw the vision and executed perfectly! Here's a little of her magic. She made strawberries that looked like lemons, a drip cake, chocolate covered candy apples that looked like lemonade and some with bees flying around them, a double-stacked Queen Bee apple, chocolate covered honeycomb Oreos and the most Ahhhmazing donuts!

My personal favorite part of the whole event was the LEMONADE BAR. It featured a glam Swarovski bottle of Champagne, Beyonce Silhouette drink stirrers and a "Never Drop That Alcohol" (lyric from the song "7-11") sign.

So, this year for my 32nd birthday party I decided to have a small (NOT) paint night. Two weeks prior to my birthday I had an awesome time at my friend's paint night and I automatically knew I wanted to do it again!

All of us!

All of us!

I had been dying to design a Kate Spade party for the last few years and I have an undying love for all things Chanel so I definitely wanted to incorporate that as well. So without further ado, here's some pics of my party! Details on how I made everything below.

I didn't get great pics of everything as a whole :( but I got great closeups! Purchase pink tissue poms here .

You can't have a fabulous party without gold donuts and dipped rock candy. I dry brushed the gold luster dust on the donuts (Dunkin') using CK Gold and a powder brush! I mixed the gold with a little lemon juice and painted the tips of the rock candy to achieve the dipped look.

For the chocolate covered Oreos, I used Merckens white chocolate wafers, an Oreo mold, Chanel edible images and fondant embellishments using this Bow Mold and this Flower Mold.

I decided to keep the cupcakes simple. Two flavors: Butter Pecan and Vanilla. I use Betty Crocker Butter Pecan mix to get the perfect flavor and I add real buttered pecans to the batter that I simmer on the stove for about 3-5 minutes. Save a few to sprinkle on top of your favorite cream cheese or vanilla frosting.

I featured these candy bar purses on both sides of the table. I used my candy bar Photoshop template. I designed it to look like a Chanel purse and added gold chain links to make it look more realistic.

I also featured custom chip bags with Strawberry Champagne popcorn inside. Want to learn how to create these bags? I have a class for that! Head over to my shop and check it out. It's $25 and I teach how I design and assemble the bags.

Here's a final shot of the whole table. Hope you enjoyed a peak into my party! Have a question or comment? Leave it below!
